The Balkan is already touching many parts of Port Charles and its not all centered around Brenda Barrett- okay it is but not all directly.
Jason is rightly suspicious after Dante comes storming down his stairs from Brenda's room, telling him to keep his guest out of his investigation concerning Sonny. Now since Sonny is the one who saw Dante and Brenda together in her room, you would think he would be suspicious as well but his entire focus was on getting Brenda back so he just took Dante's flimsy excuse for being there and let it and him go. Dante's angry march takes him back home where he rips into Michael for no reason but being the first person in his line of fire. It wasn't until he alluded to Michael murdering Claudia that he realized how cruel he was being to his younger brother. Yet it was too late. Michael ran away and Dante had to make due with Lulu trying to console him though his mind flickered back to a time between him and Brenda.
This secret must be good. They promised that no one is to know and that their paths should never cross. Is that why she went to Europe? What did they do? Why is it terrifying Dante so much that he's ready to yell at anyone? However big their secret is, I wonder if it is worth it. Jason is positive that Brenda knows who the Balkan is and is furious that she won't tell him anything.
Needing to get away, Jason is called away to meet up with Luke who had to beg Carly for a room at her hotel since his beloved wife, Tracy, refuses to take him back with her millions he stole. Carly agrees under the condition that he owes her a HUGE favor. Luke calls Jason to tell him that his visit to Europe might have stirred the attention of a mysterious man who has already beaten Ethan in hopes to get information. Guess how surprised Jason was when it was linked back to The Balkan.
Well, Luke had to tell Ethan why the half of his face was bloodied up- Lucky is in beyond neck deep trouble in Europe posing as Ronan. Luckily for him, he finds out that Brenda is back in Port Charles. Unfortunately for him, The Balkan's men are not satisfied with his need of an assistant and tell him that he has to kill Siobhan now. How is he going to talk his way out of this? I'm just glad that they are not making Lucky roam around Europe looking for Brenda who is practically in his backyard.
Back at the show's namesake, Lisa is already stirring the drama more. Prancing around in her underwear in front of Patrick, she continues to push his buttons with her innocent act. Then after Robin warns him not to let Lisa get to him, Robin slaps Lisa who skillfully hit a sore spot. Dumb Robin. I know its hard, but she should have just walked away. Like any antagonist, they act for reactions. Don't do anything and they flounder. If you react, they win. Plane and simple.
As Dante is letting his past secret with Brenda concerning the Balkan tear him up inside, the mayor is ready to tear up his career. Thanks to his so-called buddy, Ronnie, the mayor doesn't only want Dante off the car bomb case, but he wants him off the force completely. I've just got one question: HOW IS THIS MAN STILL MAYOR OF PORT CHARLES???? Who keeps electing him back into office? Seriously! In the next sweeps month catastrophe, he should be one of the ones killed off. Just a suggestion.

This week has been the week of Returns
Luke's return surprises his non-wife and son. Tracie makes an ultimatum that he cannot ignore- giver her back her money and she will give him another chance. Now he just has to find out how to get the money. However, Ethan has his own problems regarding Luke's return. Two thugs came over to beat him up for information of Luke's visit to Ireland and seeing Ronan O'Reilly in jail. Low and behold, the guys are part of Johnny's men and really work for the Balkan. The Balkan might have more than one reason to visit Port Charles.
Johnny was earlier propositioned by Carly to go see Jason and bump into Brenda. Then she made the horrible comment that Brenda is always after her men. Carly get real! ALL of Carly's men knew Brenda long before Carly was even a blip on their radar. If anything, it's the other way around. Thankfully, Michael came to tell her about Claire threatening to send him back to prison. This of course distracts Carly enough so she goes to attack the other brunette who has been a thorn in her side.
However, Sonny has already gotten to Claire and shamed her into dropping her threats. He tells her that her issue is with him, not Jason or Michael which Claire agrees to. That's why she wants to make sure that Dante gets this case concerning the car bomb in Johnny's car right and is able to get an airtight case against his father. Unfortunately for Dante, he's also being pressured by the mayor- who keeps electing this moron as a city official- who threatens him by sending him up for a review if they cannot get Sonny for this bomb. Too bad for both Claire and the mayor, Dante's mind is not completely focused on his father. Brenda keeps popping up in his mind.
Speaking of Brenda, Maxi finally came face to face with The Divine One. To her horror and agitation, Spinelli defended Brenda and Jason kicked her out. I'm glad that Spinelli finally told Maxi that it was none of her business. She keeps claiming that Brenda is going to break his heart, but looks who is talking. The same woman who cheated on Spinelli- physically and emotionally several times: Johnny, Franco and Matt. Yet, Brenda is going to be the one to hurt him? As if!
Maxi was not the only one making a fool of herself today. At the hospital, tired of the stares and side glances, Robin makes another spectacle of herself by putting her dirty laundry out there in the open. Honestly, she's making herself look even more crazy and obsessed and bitter. This of course is going to be her downfall because guess who is back (besides Liz).... LISA!
Liz is probably feeling like she has been gone forever since everything has changed. The hospital is tip toeing around the drama of Patrick/Robin/Lisa. People are questioning her friend's sanity and are angry with her other friend. Dependable Lucky is nowhere to be seen. Also, Nikolas is no longer pining over her. In fact, Nikolas is living with Brook Lynn which upsets Liz, though I don't think its any of her business. She dragged her feet too much when he wanted her. Serves her right that he continued living his life after she left.
Speaking of Brook and Nik, Nik claims that he knows that a relationship between them would be bad and Brook calls him out on his still festering desire for his deceased wife, Emily. She, like many others before her, told him it was time to move on.

September 17, 2010
Lisa had thought she had won the war. She had already planned to spend a weekend excursion with Patrick so they could watch their favorite pastime- Nascar. She was so sure of her plan that she kissed Patrick in public at the hospital then walked away. Patrick had no excuse when Steve told him that Robin was going to find out (everyone knows that the hospital employees loved good gossip) except to say that he had no choice. Patrick was later accosted by his cousin-in-law, Maxie who also had to make a few digs in Lisa. Unfortunately, Patrick vowed in the hospital to Maxie that he was only doing this to trap Lisa. They should know better that the hospital walls have ears- ears attached to the blond that they are speaking of! LISA KNOWS! And what does she do, ask for a nurse to get some serious drugs for a "patient." Uh-oh.
While Patrick was spilling the beans unknowingly to Lisa, Robin was getting informed by Steve who went straight to her place after leaving the hospital. This was after Maxie had left her, telling Robin that she should forgive Patrick. Just because he cheated on her does not mean that he does not love her. Maxie reminds her- and later Patrick- she speaks from experience. Does this mean she is still secretly pining for Spinelli or has that boat sailed and gone?
Is love enough? That was the question Carly asked Jax after he showed up at their house. He convinced her that they had been happy and they needed to move forward so he's moving back home. How long this will last, is anybody's guess. I guess that was a happy ending for a stressful day for Carly. She had just returned from Jason's where she was still upset that Jason had gone to Rome for Brenda. When Jason called Spinelli to get information about The Balkan, Carly took the phone at the same time Brenda took Jason's phone wanting whoever was on the other line to convince Jason to go back to Port Charles. Then she heard Carly's voice and couldn't help rubbing it in her face that Jason was there to protect her. Frankly I don't blame Brenda. She has more reason to despise Carly than the other way around. After all, if it wasn't for Carly opening her big mouth, Jax would not have canceled their wedding.
Once Michael and Carly left, Spinelli got down to business trying to find information about The Balkan when Dante showed up. Seeing the information on Spinelli's screen, he demanded to know what Spinelli knew of The Balkan and Spinelli wondered the exact same thing. Dante's connection with The Balkan could go back to the story he just finish telling his father about, when during a case he got too close to a woman and used another woman to get over her. That case could have something to do with The Balkan and the woman could be.... *stage whisper* Brenda. Dun dun dun. That would actually be funny to see. Another man in Port Charles for Brenda to have connections with. She might put Lulu and Carly back on the same side.
Speaking of the Spencers, Lucky convinced Siobhan that he was Ronan but he has changed- found religion and conscience. Seeing a new side of "Ronan" she leaves him with a warning, telling him to take care of himself. Now that he's different, it could get him kill. After all, an assassin cannot show compassion and do the job right. Once she left, "Ronan" got a phone call to meet someone and Lucky is about to really be tested.
Back in Port Charles, Claire and Sonny are just about to get frisky. She has put her career on the line for him and feels liberated while he just wants to get lost in her, leaving all thoughts of Brenda in Rome. As if he could.

Happy Friday the 13th Everybody
I will say it, today's episode was a bit frustrating. Am I the only one who is tired of Ronnie? He here is strutting around Port Charles like he's the only good cop, but his focus is so narrow that he cannot see the other people/situations involved. He's always getting on Dante's back about him "protecting his father" and how Jason should stay in prison to weaken Sonny Corinthos. Good grief, he acts like he has never done anything that was questionable yet we all know that he has connections with Franco. Maybe Dante should pull that card out anytime Ronnie gets on his soap box to preach.
Of course, Dante had given Ronnie new ammo now that he helped cover-up Michael's involvement with the latest drive by shooting that was meant for Johnny. Michael saved him and Ethan ran up to help. Luckily for them, Dante was the first one on the scene so they all agreed that Michael was only there to give Dante his cellphone. Unfortunately for Dante (but not surprisingly) this latest cover-up/tampering with police work might become a slippery slope that will only validate Carly's plan with Spinelli to discredit him. Then Ronnie will really have something to scold Dante about.
This time, Dante was not the only person getting a taste of Ronnie's disapproval. Claire informed him that Jason was being released thanks to her upon Sonny's request. She tried to explain that her motivation was to ease into Sonny's inner circle and gain his confidence so she can later take him down. However, I am doubting than anyone really believes that she is going to succeed where so many failed. Besides, Sonny's mind is only halfheartedly on her. He keeps thinking about Brenda who has just been proposed to by a famous actor in Italy.
As I said before, General Hospital is doing its own version of Fatal Attraction (the movie starring Glenn Close and Michael Douglas). Lisa, ready with the tears and the declaration of love, cried her heart out to a regretful Patrick who told her that its too late for them. He told her that he loves Robin and has a baby who are his family then he told her to leave. Then the doorbell rung and guess who was on the other side- the knowing Maxie. Soon both females left Patrick alone who relaxed thinking that he had settled things perfectly until he looked over and saw that in his wedding picture, Robin's face was cut out. Dun dun dun!!!! Seriously, someone needs to buy Patrick the movie or Carly needs to inform him of all the things she has done to guys who have scorned her (mainly Sonny). He needs a clue.
