Sorry for my hiatus but I'm Back....

Mac Finds Out
So is the drama on GH. As most of us predicted   when we saw the photos, Lisa jumped in front of Robin's car punctuating the disturbing case against the real victim- Robin. Unfortunately, Robin walked right into her plan by opening her mouth when she should have kept it shut. By continuously pointing out how deranged Lisa is and publicly accusing Lisa of throwing herself in front of her car, Robin looks like a desperate, emotional wife who is trying to get revenge on the woman who slept with her husband. Oh where oh where are Robin's parents or friends to help defend her.

Brooke has finally come clean to Lulu after trying to pull a fast one over Carly. Why did she think that was going to work? Obviously she keeps underestimating Carly and her intelligence. This is not the first time Carly has schemed and plotted and lied, Brooke should know that. What was Brooke thinking? Now she is trying to come clean to Lulu, telling her that Carly is the one who is behind all of it. Of course, she decides this is the time to backup Carly. Good grief. Where is Lulu's mind? Even if Brooke is not that savvy about Carly's trend for manipulation, Lulu should be. For goodness sake, she is her cousin- a Spencer. From the first time Carly stepped foot in Port Charles, she proved how well she could smile in your face while plunging a knife in your back.

Sonny
Carly's ex, Sonny is still in the police department questioning room where he received some interesting visitors. After crying and sobbing at Johnny's bedside, Olivia comes by to see Sonny and tells him that she believes his story knowing her on and off again boyfriend. No wonder Johnny is so confused about her loyalties. I'm confused myself. Walking in on their conversation, Dante completed the cute little family moment where his parents said how proud they were of him. Aw. Now with Dante and Olivia believing him, Sonny feels better but still wants Bernie to get him out of the country and to Rome. Yes Rome, where his long lost love Brenda lives. In fact, Sonny alludes to Brenda when discussing having a good woman by your side to Dante. Before they could delve further into that topic, Michael shows up and tells Sonny to make bail and to get out of Port Charles as soon as possible because he knows that his father could not survive in prison. A touching moment passed between them that ended with Michael saying how proud he was to be Sonny's son.

Away from Port Charles, Jason and Sam are still fighting for the lives because of Sam. I'm sorry, but I blame her for their predicament. Her less than stellar thinking got her trapped which forced Jason to come to save her which led them to be trapped in a recluse cabin as guns are being fired at them from all sides. Today, they got a surprised guest: Lucky. I believe he was following the Lopez brothers when he stumbled upon them. Now with an extra man and an extra gun, they might be able to escape. They just have to avoid the fire.

Johnny 101- Redone My Way

Since ABC and SoapNet have decided to refresh the viewers' memory about Jonny's run on General Hospital, it makes me wonder if he is going to die. Why else would the sites do a recount of his journey on the soap opera? He might be alive now, but it might only be to die accusing Sonny for his death and to go along with Ronnie's bogus claim. Personally, I cannot stand Ronnie. I get police officers wanting to take mob bosses off the streets but he is worse than Sonny in my opinion. His actions are completely selfish, underhanded and wrong.

Back to Johnny though, the recap both sites gave kind of painted Johnny in a positive light- totally forgetting how he treated his "darling, poor" sister at the end of her life. Am I the only one who remembers that he was the one who was saying horrible things to Claudia? That at one point he looked close to hitting her? That it was SONNY- of all people- who told him he needed to treat his sister with respect?

Well, instead of reminding audience members about those times, these are the key points that selected instead:
  • Johnny came in on the scene when Lulu needed some help. Of course her boyfriend, Logan, did not approve of the chemistry between Lulu and Johnny.
  • After being thrown together several times, Lulu and Johnny could not deny it any longer and Lulu broke up with Logan which drove the guy over the edge and resulted in him attacking her and Lulu killing him in self-defense. Johnny helped her cover it up but Lulu did have to be instituted.
  • Then Claudia came to town, becoming the over protective big sister.
  • Johnny was taken and thrown about by Sonny's men because of his father. Claudia took exception to this so put out a hit on Sonny. The result: Michael in a coma.
  • Pressured by Lulu to get out of the mob life, Johnny found solace with Maxie. Lulu and Johnny broke up and Maxie returned to Spinelli.
  • On the rebound, Johnny jumped into bed with the new woman in Port Charles: Olivia.
  • (The original list excludes the tumultuous relationship between Johnny and Claudia thanks to Johnny's guilt over what happened to Michael and Claudia's threats to Olivia and possessive controlling over Johnny's life)
  • Claudia's involvement in Michael's shooting is revealed, Claudia is killed and Johnny blames Sonny for everything.
  • Now Johnny is ready to throw everything away in order to get revenge on Sonny. Mob war anyone?

August 23, 2010

I apologize for not being here to update and with my personal life in an upheaval, I cannot make any promises for this coming week either. Hopefully, this sneak preview will help:

With Johnny shot and Ronnie claiming that Sonny shot him unarmed, Sonny had to depend on Port Charles (who is filled with people who are ready to see him behind bars) and his long lost son (who wants him behind bars but wants to uphold justice). Though I'm sure we all know that Sonny is not going to jail (hello! Brenda is coming back) who will believe him is still up in the air. I'm sure Kristina will jump at the chance to blame her father again while Michael will back up his father no matter what. What will Claire do, though? Hm.

While Sonny is pleading his innocence, Brenda is debating her marriage proposal. We all know that a marriage is not going to happen, especially when Sonny is going to be making a trip to Rome sometime in the near future.

Patrick confesses to Robin. How will his precious wife react? Well, she is a Scorpio. Expect fireworks. In my opinion, Patrick does deserve to pay. Hopefully Robin and Emma will not also have to pay for his mistakes either. Now that Robin knows, what is Lisa going to do? How are things going to be in the hospital? Can anyone say "awkward"?

Jason and Sam are going "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" without the animosity between them. A little hint: someone will be shot. My money is on Sam. Whether it is fatal or not is another question.

Michael finally learns about Carly's plan against Dante. I'm not sure if he will be able to talk her out of it- I doubt it- but he will have his say-so.

August 16, 2010

Well Jason is a free man thanks to Claire and Sonny. I wonder how Carly is going to feel about that when she finds out who is responsible for her best friend's release. Of course, I don't think even Jason can stop Carly plan for revenge, especially since the ball is already rolling and she has Spinelli fire up behind her all the way. She's already pushed Brook to step it up or get out. Look out Lulu. The real question is how is her plan going to go down and who is going to get hurt?

Returning to Claire and Sonny, I wonder how far they are going to go with this. Claire's hand is going to be forced thanks to Johnny. Not only has he informed the judge that Claire is getting too close to Sonny, but he's also going to initiate a fatal showdown with Sonny which is going to force Sonny's hand as well. Then
again, can Sonny continue to flirt with and tease Claire when his mind constantly goes back to Brenda?

Speaking of Miss Barrett, she truly skirted around her proposal which I kind of understand why. After being left at the altar three times, any woman is given the right to be a bit wedding-shy. Plus the fact that her heart might still be in Port Charles, it might not be right to marry her Hollywood actor boyfriend, even though in my opinion her best bet would to say yes to the gorgeous man who obviously adores her. Then again, if she said yes then there would be little reason for her to return to Port Charles and we know that she has to return to PC. *Spoiler Alert* According to resources, Brenda is going to be reeled into Port Charles's drama - mainly Jason's drama- when Franco contacts her. It appears that he wants her for a new project. Coincidence? I think not. Hopefully the writers are going to get things rolling soon. I also hope they keep the hunky Hollywood boyfriend around for a bit. Could be interesting if there is another love interest in her life. Also, Port Charles can never have too many cute guys running around.

As for this week, here are the storylines that could be heating up:
  • Lisa is not taking rejection well. Robin better watch her back. Then again, Maxie will do it for her.
  • Lulu is going to witness something that is going to encourage her feisty Spencer blood to boil
  • Brenda's ties to Port Charles are going to be strengthened
  • Johnny is going to force Sonny to make a move that might cost them all

Happy Friday the 13th Everybody

Ronni and Franco
I will say it, today's episode was a bit frustrating. Am I the only one who is tired of Ronnie? He here is strutting around Port Charles like he's the only good cop, but his focus is so narrow that he cannot see the other people/situations involved. He's always getting on Dante's back about him "protecting his father" and how Jason should stay in prison to weaken Sonny Corinthos. Good grief, he acts like he has never done anything that was questionable yet we all know that he has connections with Franco. Maybe Dante should pull that card out anytime Ronnie gets on his soap box to preach.

Dante and Ronnie
Of course, Dante had given Ronnie new ammo now that he helped cover-up Michael's involvement with the latest drive by shooting that was meant for Johnny. Michael saved him and Ethan ran up to help. Luckily for them, Dante was the first one on the scene so they all agreed that Michael was only there to give Dante his cellphone. Unfortunately for Dante (but not surprisingly) this latest cover-up/tampering with police work might become a slippery slope that will only validate Carly's plan with Spinelli to discredit him. Then Ronnie will really have something to scold Dante about.

Claire Walsh
This time, Dante was not the only person getting a taste of Ronnie's disapproval. Claire informed him that Jason was being released thanks to her upon Sonny's request. She tried to explain that her motivation was to ease into Sonny's inner circle and gain his confidence so she can later take him down. However, I am doubting than anyone really believes that she is going to succeed where so many failed. Besides, Sonny's mind is only halfheartedly on her. He keeps thinking about Brenda who has just been proposed to by a famous actor in Italy.

Patrick and Lisa
As I said before, General Hospital is doing its own version of Fatal Attraction (the movie starring Glenn Close and Michael Douglas). Lisa, ready with the tears and the declaration of love, cried her heart out to a regretful Patrick who told her that its too late for them. He told her that he loves Robin and has a baby who are his family then he told her to leave. Then the doorbell rung and guess who was on the other side- the knowing Maxie. Soon both females left Patrick alone who relaxed thinking that he had settled things perfectly until he looked over and saw that in his wedding picture, Robin's face was cut out. Dun dun dun!!!! Seriously, someone needs to buy Patrick the movie or Carly needs to inform him of all the things she has done to guys who have scorned her (mainly Sonny). He needs a clue.

Dr. Lisa Niles
Dr. Lisa Niles is bringing back fatal attraction to Port Charles. Patrick is going to regret sleeping with her for a very long time. Avoiding her outside of the hospital won't be easy if she continues to drop by his house while no one is home and waiting for him to come home, chilling like she lives there. Patrick might need to ask Carly for advice on how to get rid of the psychotic blond doctor.

Michael is almost like a ticking time bomb. Not only does he believe that everything is his fault- Carly's need for revenge, Sonny's upcoming mob war, Jason being locked up- but he still is dealing with the trauma that he had to deal with in prison. I wish in a way Carly could focus on healing her son, but since he's living with Dante and she is so blinded by her anger and hate, her actions might really damage Michael in the long run.

Well we got a little insight of what's going to chase Brenda back to Port Charles. Someone wants to harm her- if not kill her- because of her involvement with her organization ASEC. If someone is out to kill you, the normal thing to do is leave the country and return home- even if home is a hot bed of mob wars and high drama you escaped from in the first place.

I wonder if Olivia's marriage talk is going to be another thing that will push Dante towards Brook. Men are strange, especially if they are not the long-term commitment type. If the idea of marriage scares him so much, he might have that urge to act impulsively to contradict the idea. And who will be waiting in the wings to help him but dear little Brook. According to previews, Brook will succeed (with a little help from drugs) in getting Dante and Lulu will walk in. Carly should be pleased. This will probably be how Friday's episode ends. Wouldn't that be something though- Olivia's motherly interference may benefit Carly's plan to ruin her son.

I think Maya and Ethan are cute together. A little boring yes, but still cute. I thought when Maya came onto the scene, she was gonna have more spunk and fire (like Gia from years ago) but so far I haven't seen that much except when she tells Edward that she doesn't want his influence. However, she is okay. She hasn't annoyed me yet which is a good thing.

Do you think Sam's plan is actually valid? How are they going to get Jason out of jail? He cannot stay in jail for two years. That is ridiculous and will cripple storylines. Also, I heard a rumor that Kelly Monaco is leaving the show. What are they going to do with Sam? Is she going bye-bye? Hm.

August 11, 2010

We got our first glimpse of Brenda living in Italy. It looks like she's some kind of celebrity- singer maybe. She was a singer in Port Charles so that's a possibility. So we get a little insight of her life in Italy, including the attempted murder that occur just as she was about to step onto the stage. Now I'm wondering what's going to bring her back to Port Charles. Will she have to hide out because someone is trying to kill her? Will it be a phone call from Sonny who pulls her back home? Since she was added to the opening credits, it's safe to say that her return is not just some little ratings pick up (unlike Laura's return).

Speaking of Sonny, where is Claire's mind? This cat and mouse game she is trying to play with Sonny just shows how inexperience that she is. A part of me was hoping that she would hook up with Lucky. The moment they spent at the park on the bench where she spilled her guts to him was so funny and slightly endearing. Plus the fact that he appeared to care for her, it could have been a good match.

But right now, Lucky is depressed by the lost of Aiden. Holding the baby and pretending to be his father forced him to realize that a part of him wanted to be that baby's father, and who can blame him. He's been spending all his time raising other men's children. Why wouldn't he want a son of his own? Surprisingly enough, Maxie turned out to be the perfect person to run into him. For the usual flake, she made some sense and was there for him. Maybe she's actually growing up. :)

Across the bar, Olivia was commiserating over her torn heart that seems to always place her in the mob's way. Johnny is the man she loves and Sonny is the father of her only child. However, a part of me wonder if that's the only reason she is worried about Sonny. He's always been the father of her child, so why all of a sudden does she worry about him? Where was his concern for him when she did not tell him about Dante (though I can understand why she did keep the secret)?

Speaking of Dante, he just got a taste of what Brook and Carly has in store for him. I wonder if Michael had not interrupted Brook's seduction -though Dante pulled away before he came in- how would it have ended. Dante admits that Brook was hot and he was giving her all these signals that she should move in, but he also tells her that he loves Lulu. Was it just a moment of weakness or does a part of him lust for Brook? Hm.

Another interesting relationship is this could-be budding relationship between Kristina and Taylor. After an abusive relationship, especially if its emotional, verbal and physical, its hard to trust again. Yet here is this young guy who really likes her and appears to have no connection to Keifer. Then again, there is usually no new character that does not have a few skeletons in the closet. Could there be more to this Taylor than we see right now?

August 10, 2010: Brenda's Past in Port Charles

I know, I know... not everyone is happy about her return or that ABC decided to dedicate today's soap opera 3 hour block to her, but I thoroughly enjoyed the walk down memory lane. The old faces, the old storylines, the drama that formed the drama today. Also, can you believe how young our favorites characters were? lol.

Sonny and Brenda
This is the couple that most people remember and enjoy. Their emotional rollercoaster relationship was made for soap opera heaven. There just seemed like too much miscommunication, high emotions and dumb actions that kept tearing the apart. With her return, she's already stealing Sonny's attention away.

Jax and Brenda
Her white knight in shining armor, some people might say. He swept in and "saved" her from Sonny's maddening lifestyle. Though they did not really sizzle on screen like Sonny and Brenda, you cannot deny that he was what she needed at the time. Whether they will reunite with her return to Port Charles is still up in the air for me. Jax and Carly are still fighting to be together though Carly is having a hard time really forgiving him. Will Brenda's appearance force Carly to really fight for her husband or will it push them further apart? I'm not sure. I'm not even sure if I care, now.

Jason and Brenda
Now all you JaSam fans should breath a sigh of relief. I seriously doubt that Brenda will even come close to getting between them. Jason loves Sam. If his first true love, Robin, couldn't tear them apart or even his off again on again go-to girl, Elizabeth, then I doubt Brenda can. Even if he kept her pink room. Though they get on each other's nerves, they do have a connection.

I hope Brenda's return is not like Laura's return: the big build up and anticipation only to disappoint fans by having her story arc only last about a month of less. That just annoys me completely. You build our hopes up only to dash them by saying our favorite characters are only there for a few special episodes.

August 09, 2010

Lucky has returned Nikolas' and Liz's baby boy. Will this fix the rift between brothers? Will Liz fall back into Lucky's arms? Will they ever figure out Lucky is the real father? Of course they are! One thing about soaps, 99% of lies and secrets are always revealed at momentous moments. Aiden will probably get sick and need a blood transfusion or something which will lead to blood tests which will lead to the truth. (Even though that storyline has been done before). I'm doubting Helena will every tell the truth unless it benefits her. (Speaking of Helena, whatever happened to this Cassadine- Valentine- that she is suppose to be so afraid of?) Who knows how, but the truth will be revealed. As for Lucky and Liz, the hopeless romantic who watched their relationship from the beginning would like them to get back together, but a bigger part of me wants Lucky to move on. In my opinion, he needs a woman who is more of his equal than a damsel in distress. Also Liz, I believe, needs to learn how to get along by herself. What kind of role model is she portraying to her boys if she is always allowing some man to rescue her?

Claire, Sonny and Johnny. Johnny has gained the ear of the judge and has planted suspicions of doubt concerning Claire which could lead to her disbarment. A part of me realizes that she might deserve disbarment, flirting with Sonny the way she is. She's trying to convince everyone that it is part of her plan but whose conning who? Though I think she has it coming to her, I don't want it to be Johnny who instigates it. That gives him too much power. I use to like Johnny, but no longer. I understand him wanting to avenge his sister and wanting to hold onto good memories of her, but how can he truly forget the last weeks of her life when their relationship was more than strain? It had gotten to a point that Sonny (of all people) had to defend Claudia to Johnny- telling him he should respect his sister. And as for Claire and Sonny- that's soon going to be over with. If Claire's job and reputation is on the line she's gonna have to scramble to get control again. Plus, Brenda's return is going to draw most if not all of Sonny's attention from anything/anyone else.

Carly's revenge on Dante. How many times does a woman have to show up on your doorstep dripping wet for you not to get the picture? I know Brooklyn is Dante's old friend and he doesn't like to question anyone's motives, but soon his rose-colored glasses need to come off. Speaking of which, do you think Johnny is right and Dante is turning to the "dark side" because of Sonny? I think Dante is probably finding loopholes and acting a bit out of character- less prince charming- but I think that's because he was slapped in face with the reality that his justice system isn't as sterling and perfect as he originally believed. Justice is in the need of the seer.

August 06, 2010

We all know she was coming (how could we not since they keep telling us every other commercial break), but on today's episode, they started laying the groundwork for Brenda's return. Robin received a message from her dear friend who she just coincidentally saw while she was in Africa. (Don't you love those kind of happenstances) So of course after telling her husband, she rushes to Sonny to give him Brenda's contact information.

However, before then, Sonny and Claire watched as Dante arrested Johnny for a frame-up Sonny put into motion. Johnny pleaded his innocence but Dante continued to arrest him. Claire followed Dante and Johnny to PCPD to do her job, but not before telling Sonny that she hoped that he was not involved in Johnny's arrest and it was not a frame-up. Of course now Sonny feels like he is on cloud nine. Not even Carly- who witnessed the entire thing- telling him that he was due for a downfall could darken his mood.

Truly upset with Dante, Carly rushes over to Jason's where Spinelli had another visitor- Lulu. She came over to admit that she had been blinded by her love for Dante and had forsaken everyone else, but she was still going to support Dante in everything he does. This of course upsets Spinelli who asks her why she is not even considering the opinions of friends and family members who knew her long before Dante was in the picture. That was when Carly came in, fuming about Dante. She recovered quickly, though, when she saw Lulu and said her rage was towards Franco. Lulu made her exit and Carly told Spinelli that tonight is going to be the night to get a little bit of revenge on Dante.

Meanwhile, Dante was at the PCPD, bringing in Johnny while Diane was postponing Jason's transfer to Pentonville for as long as possible. During this, Claire took Johnny's statement but Johnny forced her to admit that her opinions of Sonny have changed much to Johnny's disgust.

Elsewhere, just as we thought Helena was gonna to spill the beans of who the real father of Aiden was, Alexis showed up and as a unit, Alexis, Elizabeth and Nikolas threw her out. Nikolas followed Helena out and asked her if she was involved in the baby's abduction which she replied she had nothing to do with his son's disappearance.

Speaking of Aiden, with Spinelli's help, Lucky located Franco's mom and Aiden.

I don't think I missed anything. So what do you think about today's episode?

My two-cents: I love Brenda, always have since I started watching the show, but I'm kind of getting sick of continuously being told that she will be returning on Wednesday. I know already!!! Yeesh. However, I'm still looking forward to her return. I also wonder how they are going to get Jason out of Pentonville now. Franco is still on the loose and lets face it, Port Charles is not the same without Jason. Sonny isn't the same without Jason.
I totally think Lisa is gonna to go all Fatal Attraction on Patrick- not that he doesn't deserve it. He's been giving Robin a rough time (though she has been a pain to him every now and then as well) for a while and then he cheats on her. Good grief.

What's on your mind? Your take?

Introduction

I'm like many I believe who were turned onto the soap operas thanks to their grandmothers (or mothers). One summer, I spent a few weeks with my grandmother and she had a schedule: wake up, eat breakfast, watch a few game shows, then watch the news, then ABC soaps would come on. Heaven help anyone who disrupted her soap hours. We would watch All My Children, One Life to Live then . . . my favorite, General Hospital. I loved watching the crazy Quartermaines, the adventurous Spencers and the rest of the Port Charles inhabitants.

My grandmother is gone now, but I still watch General Hospital whenever I can. There were spaces of time when I did not watch at all- busy schedule, school, boring storylines, etc. Now, I'm back to watching the soap whenever I can. I use to have friends I use to discuss the soaps with. We would debate who belongs together, who could kick whose butt, when the secret will be revealed, who was the hottest, etc. However, now I really don't have anyone to talk to about GH which is half of the fun of watching the show. So I'm calling all GH lovers, if you want to discuss the drama going on in Port Charles daily, this is the place to be. I will try to give updates of what's happening on the show (but there will be times I miss an episode or two) for those who cannot watch it every day.

I want to start this blog for us fans who would like to discuss and debate (maturely) about our show. Feel free to speak your mind but please no personal attacks. I want this to be a comfortable space for everyone. Also, we are all allowed our own opinions. Some of us might like one character, others might hate the same character. That's just the way it is. So hopefully we can all have fun here.
