THE RETURN OF JERRY JAX

Lucky, Dante and Jason finally come up to the conclusion that the "Jack" Siobhan referenced from a conversation she overheard might be a last name like Jacks... as in Jerry Jacks, the scrupulous brother of Jasper Jacks. Running with this, Dante goes to see Jasper about his brother but runs into Carly instead. Jason goes to warn Sam who doesn't know that someone (not Jerry Jacks) has been in her apartment and was privy to her private conversation with her mother.

While his brother is running amuck, Jax is torn between whether to interfere with Brenda's life especially now Sonny is back on the scene. After Suzanne begged and pleaded (and put her nose where it doesn't belong) for him to pull Brenda away from Sonny, he requests Olivia to order roses and champagne and to send them to Brenda. Olivia reminds him to remember all that he has to lose if things blow up in his face. Just as it appears that he's going to heed Olivia's warning, he spots Sonny and Brenda downstairs in the Metro Court's restuarant.

Why did Sonny bring Brenda to the restaurant in the Metro Court? Even Brenda had to ask. Sonny's excuse: he had nothing to hide. My opinion, he wanted to rub their date in people's faces- mainly Jax's. Well he got his wish. Jax spots them and immediately invites himself to their table where they have champagne together.

Before the left, they encountered Carly who was too calm for Sonny's liking. He demanded for her to admit what she has plan, but she refused. Once Brenda pulled Sonny away, Carly started working on Spinelli, after she found out how much he did not like the fact that The Divine One is out with Mr. Sir. So using her sneaky little brain, she twisted it around that she heard from Dante's old cop buddy that he might have pressured Brenda into having an affair with him three years ago. Now Spinelli is on the case of finding concrete evidence that Dante and Brenda slept together.

In Scrub News, Robin was released from the hospital and returned home. She and Patrick almost had a tender moment until Maxie barged in and ruined it. Though Maxie tried to save it by leaving, the moment was lost and Robin sent Patrick away.

Patrick returns to the hospital and is requested to work on one of Lisa's patient. It's still tense with everyone having their own opinion of the bizarre atmosphere in the hospital. Thankfully Elizabeth is still on Robin's side and will probably remain on her side after she sees the "confession" Lisa put online- of course skewing the story so she is the innocent "other woman" and that Robin is the deranged wife who will never be satisfied with her husband. Can't wait to see Patrick confront Lisa. (He better do it)

In other relationship news, Michael and Abby grow closer. I don't know why but I don't think she's going to last long. Besides Michael, she has no connection to anyone else. I wonder if she's not the villain I first prophesied, will she be a casualty to the big drama that is brewing.

My TAKE ON TODAY'S EPISODE:

Suzanne is getting too many people involved in Brenda's life and I wonder why. She keeps saying that she is protecting a good friend, but she also told Jason that she obviously doesn't know Brenda as well as she thought she did. So is Brenda a good friend or a stranger with a past life she doesn't understand? And why is she asking for every man's (Jason's, Jax's) assistance to protect Brenda- knowing fully well that Brenda doesn't want everyone to dictate and interfere in her life.

Spinelli still has the most hilarious scene today- this time between him and Carly. However, he is one of the most gullible characters on the show. How could he believe that Carly would care one ounce about Brenda? As if!

I hope Carly is smacked down with her own schemes. She thinks she is so smart and is golden, but everyone has warned her that it will all blow up in her face.

Many assume The Balkan is Jerry Jacks, but I'm not convinced yet. Maybe Jerry is just a red herring. Could it be someone else more sinister? Or someone who is already in Port Charles?

November 29, 2010

Well I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving holiday. Mine was pleasant, but I'm sure no one cares so on to the show:

Last week was a nice week for the characters to spend time together and for us to have some light-hearted moments.

Brenda told Sonny about Alexander and Dante's part in the cover-up. Sonny convinced Brenda to stop blaming herself and then asked her out on a date.

Claire asked to join Alexis' and Diane's law firm which was a funny scene. I knew that was going to happen eventually.

Molly and Spinelli planned a romantic moment for Jason and Sam which was sweet and cute.

At the Quartermaine house:
Lucky brought Siobhan who quickly charmed Edward.
Lulu conned Dante into coming over and he brought Michael with him (whose family went to Manhattan to see the parade), much to Edward's delight.
Maya and Ethan continued their fun banter as husband and wife.
Luke finally gave Tracy her engagement ring which almost brought her to tears (perfect moment!)

At Alexis' house:
Though she was away spending time with her father, Molly was still orchestrating things at home. With the help of her sisters, Maxie and Robin, they managed to get Mac to come over for Alexis.
Diane (who showed up with Max) approved.
Trying to help Spinelli, the girls also invited Maxie and arranged it for them to sit side by side. None of them knew Maxie invited Matt over as well. (tear shed for Spinelli)

Having a more intimate moment:
Patrick, Robin and Emma spend some time together in Robin's hospital room

Today's Episode:
Dante, Jason and Lucky work together to figure out who the Balkin is. Since Spinelli cannot tear himself from The Divine One's side, Lucky cracks into his computer and is able to access many of his files to the others' surprise. Since it seems like everyone else knows, Dante finally comes clean to Lucky (after Jason puts it out there) about him covering up the Balkan's son's murder.

Robin is released from the hospital but this after she makes a fool of herself twice when confronting Lisa. Knowing that she was going to confront people, Lisa came up to their floor (when she should be in the ER) and Robin saw her. Flipping out, Robin demanded to know why she was up there and Steve told Lisa it would be best if she had an intern bring up her papers in the future. Witnessing it, Nikolas beings to side with Lisa and is further pushed to her side when Lisa asked for him to come along when Robin pages her. Robin flat out tells her that if she comes near her family or home she will be arrested. Nikolas- the gullible moron- continues to believe that Robin is the emotional mess and confronts Patrick, declaring it is all his fault. However, Robin allows Patrick to drive her home. Little does anyone suspect that Lisa will be taking her warfare to the internet. Inspired by a patient, she finds out about a site where you can anonymously put up your complaints/side of a story and get people to side with you.

Sonny was a busy boy. He first confronts Dante and thanks him for what did for Brenda, revealing that she told him about the incident 3 years ago. Then he talks to Suzanne and tells her not to interfere with his relationship with Brenda. Next, he goes to pick up Brenda but is met with Spinelli instead. Taking a protective role, Spinelli demands to know what his intentions are for The Divine One. After a very awkward and hilarious scene between The Jackal and Mr. Sir, Brenda comes down and assures Spinelli that everything will be okay. Just as they open the door to leave, guess who is on the other side: CARLY!

Meanwhile, her husband is being requested by Suzanne. She feels like he is the only male in Brenda's life who can pull her away from Sonny. I don't know why she feels like she has the right to pull all these men away from their lives to aid Brenda when she does not want their help. Though I'm sure Jax will initially refuse, I have a feeling he will not be able to sit on the sideline knowing that Sonny is pursuing Brenda again (even though it is a mutual attraction). He will get involved which will make Carly even more determine to bring down Brenda and everything is going to hit the fan.

In more interesting news: someone is sneaking around Sam's apartment. Who could it be? My guess: Jerry Jax. He was, after all, obsessed with her before he left. Why wouldn't he still be upon his return?

My own take of today's episode:
NIKOLAS IS AN IDIOT WHO NEEDS TO KEEP HIS NOSE IN HIS OWN BUSINESS!!!! Where's Brook when you need her. He should be focusing on her and allowing her to bring out his fun side. Instead he's spending all his spare time with Lisa; defending her, making sure she is okay, supporting her, etc. It makes me sick.

I so hope that when this is all over he gets on his knees and begs Robin to forgive him for actually believing the psycho over her- someone he has known for half of his life! However, Robin is making it SO EASY for people to doubt her sanity and ability to be objective. She needs to stop her high-horse dramatics and allow Lisa to strange herself with her own rope. Also Johnny needs to come clean. After everything he has been through with Maxie, he should show some loyalty to her by helping out her family.

Spinelli's conversation with Sonny was my favorite part in the entire episode. It was so funny and sweet how Spinelli gulped down his fear for Mr. Sir and just spoke his mind in order to protect Brenda. Though Brenda doesn't need to be protected (something I wish the writers would realize and start writing her as the strong, opinionated woman she was before). It's like

November 22, 2010

Armed with her information, Carly is cornered by Jason so she shows her hand to Jason: she tells him that she has a person who could vouch that Dante and Brenda slept together 3 years ago. Jason however turns the tables on Carly and tells her that all she has is a guy's suspicion which she might have twisted for her own agenda. However, after Carly leaves, Jason talks to Dante and demands to know if there is anything else he needs to know. Dante maneuvers around the question, keeping his and Brenda's secret for a little bit longer.

Jason is not the only one calling out Carly. Uncle Luke spots dear Caroline encouraging Lulu to stay with Dante and to stay by his side. However, Luke does not buy it especially since he knows Carly is a Spencer- a person who is feisty and relentless. He finally pulls it out of her that she loathes Dante and cannot wait for him to fall on his face. When it comes to Lulu, Carly admits that Lulu betrayed family and deserves whatever she gets. Suspicious, Luke leaves her with a warning.

Of course Lulu is still oblivious that her main enemy is her cousin. She is so focused on being the perfect girlfriend and keeping her identity while keeping Dante's attention and affection. So insecure, she pesters Michael if Dante had spoken to him about her- making her young cousin uncomfortable. Michael was put into the position of protecting Dante by neglecting to tell her that Dante has been speaking of Brenda. Later, Michael confronts Dante and tells him that he overheard his conversation with Suzanne and believes that he does have an emotional attachment to Brenda.

He's not the only one. After talking to Robin and reminiscing about the old days, Brenda goes to see Sonny's old apartment above Luke's old club. When she gets there, she finds out that she is not the only one who wants a walk down memory lane. Sonny is there after he talks to Olivia about Brenda.  Together, they talk about the good old days and their young romance.

While Brenda is reliving her happiest moments, Robin is going through her own emotional rollercoaster. She wakes up to Maxie throwing her purse at Lisa who was standing by Robin's IV with a needle. Thankfully (or unfortunately, really) Maxie prevents Lisa from injecting whatever she had in Robin's IV and chases Lisa through the hospital. Along the way, Lisa passes by Johnny and hands him the syringe. Maxie, Patrick and Steve demand for the cops to come to investigate. However, the cops- headed by Ronni- find nothing. Yet, Steve finds Lisa's presence in Robin's room enough to put her on probation. Lisa is livid and Maxie is slightly justified until people start questioning if she framed Lisa.

Lisa, upset, is actually surprised and happy to hear Nikolas stupidly defending her to Steve. Knowing that she at least has one person on her side, she runs after Nikolas and thanks him for being "objective"- gullible would have been the word I would have used. Still playing innocent, she continues to bat her eyes at him not knowing that Johnny is in the alley watching everything with a knowing grin.

Things to consider/watch out for:
  • Luke will be watching Carly closely who is going to up her game; she's going to be desperate to expose Dante and Brenda, especially when she sees how all of the men in her life are ready and waiting to help the "distress damsel".
  • Brenda and Sonny are going to grow closer which is going to make the moment when her secret is exposed that much juicier
  • Johnny is not going to let Lisa get away with everything for nothing. A partnership is going to grow out of this and possibly.... more?

November 18, 2010

Jason has his hands full with trying to keep Carly from destroying everyone's life and Brenda's neurotic episodes. Carly claims that she is just holding onto what is hers, and the only way to do that is to run Brenda out of town. So what does she do? How about tell Jason that Brenda and Dante slept together. Like Jason would care. He already knows that they knew each other 3 years ago (of course Carly doesn't know that he knows). Brenda and Dante getting pelvic isn't going to change is opinion of either one- or at least it shouldn't. What do you want to bet that Carly is going to be pissed when she finds out that Jason doesn't care?

However, Carly's news might explain to Jason why Brenda does not want Dante to guard her anymore. After Suzanne started putting a few pieces together- Brenda calling out Dante's name when she was in the hospital in Africa 3 years ago- she began questioning both of them about it. Brenda sent Dante away and demanded for Jason to get Dante off of her guard duty. When Jason reminds her that it was Jax's suggestion, she goes to call Jax but Jason stops her not wanting Brenda talking to Jax upset jealous Carly. So angry that Jason cannot make any promises to her, she storms off.

Thankfully she doesn't go to any of her waiting men. Instead she visits her friend Robin who needs a good friend after the devastating bomb Lisa dropped on her and Patrick. Lisa has decided to go to the board and have Robin fired "for Robin's sake." Livid, Robin calls for Nikolas so he can talk to the board for her. When he suggests stalling the board meeting, Robin refuses. She wants to tell her story and prove that Lisa is the crazy one. However, SHE HAS NO PROOF! Thank goodness her buddy Brenda arrives to take her mind off of Lisa and they begin to reminisce about the good old days with Stone and Sonny.

Sonny is having a mixed day himself. He is able to thank Claire for petitioning on his behalf to see his son. Still strung out on him, Claire tells him there is something he can do for her: follow his heart to Brenda. I'm surprised she can be so calm and rational about something like that (especially when every other female in Port Charles believes they own every man they have slept with- Carly, Lisa, Maxie, Liz). Afterward, he goes to tell Michael the good news about their visitation. Then he gets a visit from Olivia who tries to talk him out of seeing Michael often for Dante's sake but their conversation turns to his relationship with Brenda when he spots a fashion magazine on his table.

Sonny isn't the only one Michael spoke to that day. He also had an emotional conversation with Abby who pleaded for him to talk to someone about whatever happened in prison. The question is who will he tell: Abby? Or someone else? Also, am I the only one who sees a huge resemblance between Abby and Carly (especially in this picture)? The wavy long blond hair. The black trench coat. Do they have the same stylist of something?

In more amusing news, the Quartermaines are having fun with marriages. Ethan and Maya accept Edwards proposition: 1 million dollars for 1 year of marriage. I don't know why Lulu is so surprised that Ethan (and Luke) would jump on that deal in a heartbeat. They are Spencers. DUH! As if her father's son could turn down an opportunity to receive a million dollars tax free to do nothing but stay married. I wonder what kind of obstacles are going to trouble the happy couple. Speaking of couple news, Luke and Tracy are going to get married with a few conditions: get married home, no drinks, surrounded by family and friends (does this mean her sons will be coming back home?) and it will be on December 21st. The problem: December 21st is Laura's birthday. Dun-dun-dun.

While most of his family is dealing with the Quartermaines, Lucky has to juggle the women in his life. In a very territorial move, Liz tracks down Siobhan to Jake's and demands to know more about her. Lucky halts her inquisition and tells her to stay out of his personal life. When Liz leaves, Siobhan states that Liz still wants Lucky (which she does) but Lucky assures her that he wants her. Liz is probably so confused. When she left, she still had Lucky and Nikolas twisted around her finger. Now that she's back, both have different women in their life and have moved on. Will she be knocking on Jason's door soon? Like that's all he needs right now. LOL.

November 17, 2010

Okay, what's new?

Carly and Brenda have another face off where Carly warns Brenda that her secrets are going to get her. Right when I think Brenda has a backbone for standing up to Carly (and threatening to steal Jax away if Carly doesn't back off), she calls and demands for Jason to come back because of Carly's harrassment.

Brenda is not the only one who is telling Jason to do something about Carly. Even Michael is worried about whatever scheme his mother has in store. So he asks Jason to talk to Carly, but Carly refuses to let go of her anger towards Dante and need to get revenge. Surprisingly (NOT!) the only one who is in support of Carly's plan is Maxie who was played by Spinelli (of all people). Finally using his brain, Spinelli worked on Maxie's insecurities when it comes to his devotion to the "Divine One" and made her jealous. Score one for the Jackal.

While Maxie is hating on Brenda- for NO reason- Robin is somewhat relieved when Patrick told her that he was able to dissuade Lisa from going to the board and firing Robin. What he did not mention was Lisa's "joking" ultimatum- she'll drop the charges if he sleeps with her. I'm sure she was just playing with his head and trying to wear down his defenses, but I'm also positive she was trying to gauge how receptive he was to the idea. Thank goodness, he remained the good husband and declined.

Speaking of husbands and wives, Ethan and Maya return to Port Charles still married despite both claiming that they don't love each other (They have "feelings"). Little they know that they would return home to a sentimental Edward who has a lucrative proposition for them: stay married for a year, and he will give them a million dollars. Now how can a Spencer turn down such an offer?

Concerning offers, I am sure that it's only a matter of time before Alexis and Diane offers Claire a position in their law firm. Diane has a very healthy dose of respect for Claire while Alexis has been in her shoes before. If Claire does lose her job thanks to this investigation- which she probably will- she will need a job. Of course her deal to get Sonny more time with Michael is not going to help her case either. And if my suspicions are right (she's pregnant with Sonny's child) she will be staying in Port Charles for awhile.

Also seeming like she is going to stay in Port Charles for awhile, Siobhan is enjoying her time with Lucky but is continuously reminded how little she knows about this man whose life is very complicated. It includes an unsteady relationship with his half-brother, two adorable boys who aren't biologically his and an ex who has been in his life (and in his heart) since they were teenagers. That's right, Siobhan and Liz come face to face and I don't think Liz is happy to see her ex being friendly with the strange woman with pretty hair. (I believe that's what Liz commented on- her hair).

There is another female who doesn't appear like she will be disappearing anytime soon: Abby. Again she pops up when Michael needs to talk. However, during their conversation, Michael grows upset and suspicious of how much she knows about his ordeal at prison. I'm still unsure about her. There's just something I don't trust.

November 15, 2010

Catch-up:
  • Robin wakes up with Lisa hovering over her bed with a needle but after investigation, everything looks innocent and Robin is now looking more crazy and paranoid than usual. Lisa actually leaves claiming Robin needs help. Then she goes to Steve and threatens to have Robin fired because she's the one who is under investigation against any evidence while Robin is going away throwing accusations at her. Steve informs Patrick and admits that as the chief of the hospital, he has to be honest and admit that there is no evidence to support Robin but many to support Lisa. Thankfully, Robin is getting more good advice, but this time from Brenda who tells her not to give Lisa that much power over her.

  • Brenda is making the rounds. Before she went to the hospital, she stopped off at Dante's hoping to talk to him but bumps into Lulu instead. They have a brief conversation where Brenda admits that she lost herself in her relationship with Sonny. This touches Lulu who wonders if she is getting too lost into Dante's life, forgoing her own independence. So she starts backing off, trying to establish her own identity again.

  • Speaking of independence, Siobhan is stating her own and avoiding the flirty Coleman as she works around Jake's, meeting the local patrons and surprising people like Lulu and Dante. Jason comes to her, demanding to know if she can remember anything else from when she was kidnapped. It is then that she mentions a peculiar phone call that included the name Jack (could it be Jacks, as in Jerry Jacks?)

  • Also at Jake's, Olivia is drinking down her sorrow and filling Coleman in in her latest woes: Carly and Johnny working way too closely together. She believes that Carly is only using Johnny to get Jax jealous but she refuses to allow Carly to drag Johnny into her drama which will probably mess up her life. Then she admits that if she thought anything sexual was going between the two of them, she would dump Johnny in a heartbeat.

  • Little does she know that Johnny and Carly are working together to get evidence to destroy Brenda (even though Johnny is along because of his curiosity). They find it in Dante's old partner who assumed that the two of them were sleeping together. Beyond excited, Carly is jumping in joy with this news that can "push Brenda off of her pedestal." The only problem she has is who to tell first. Maybe Dante.

  • Knowing that his wife is beyond crazy when it comes to her revenge motives, (revenge for what, I'm not sure) Jax goes to visit Brenda to warn her about Carly.

  • While Jax freely goes to Brenda to warn her, Sonny tries to help by staying away and pulling strings. He is upset that Jason refuses to tell him Brenda's secret but understands in a way. So once Jason leaves, he calls Suzanne and demands for her to tell him all that she knows and accuses her of putting Brenda is harm's way. Not one to tremble before Mr. Corinthos, Suzanne lets him have saying that he's the one who has put Brenda in danger.

  • In Vegas, as Tracy and Luke try to find an attorney to get an annulment for Ethan and Maya, the married couple decides to consummate their marriage under a drunken high.
Things to consider:
  • Brenda mentions her sister when she has a touching moment with Nikolas' son in General Hospital. Could this sister make an appearance in Port Charles with a child? Hm.
  • Why would Lisa warn Steve about her intentions unless she wanted him to tell Patrick so Patrick can come to her and beg her to not hurt Robin.

November 11, 2010

Okay, Sam is now acting way beyond out of character. How many times has Jason put himself in harms way to protect someone else (Carly, Michael, Sonny)? She should be use to it but now she is angry because he is protecting Brenda, someone he has a complicated relationship with. I don't get it. There really isn't sexual energy between them. To me it's more like brother/sister relationship, they continuously annoy each other but are there for each other.

While Sam is whining to Dante and Jason about Brenda- who told Jason to go make things better with his girlfriend- Carly is taking a more proactive method to taking down Brenda. She has asked for Johnny's help to track down and conjure a meeting with the cop who worked with Dante during the time he guarded Brenda. Coincidentally, that same cop is now indirectly working for Johnny. However, Olivia and Jax do not approve of seeing them together at the bar, cozy and grinning.

In Las Vegas, chaos runs rampant and ends with a not-so-happy married couple: Maya and Ethan. After the foursome finally figured out what happened during their drunken escapades, Maya and Ethan demand for an annulment so Luke and Tracy rush out to accommodate their wishes. Ironically enough, their minister is the same one who wedded Jason and Brenda.

Robin and family find out the reports of the fire suggest that it was an accident and that a candle found near the curtains. Maxie fessed up that she was lighting the candles for Liz's boys to blow out so they could have some fun and she has no recollection of blowing all of them out. So reluctantly, the group calls Lisa in to tell her the results but Robin refuses to forgive her which Lisa just uses to make her look even more neurotic and paranoid. Robin knows this and worries that people will start believing Lisa over her. In fact, she wakes up screaming with Lisa hovering over her bed with a needle- not a pretty sight.

First off: WHO CAME UP WITH THE DOCTOR SCHEDULE?!?!?! Everybody is General Hospital knows the history between these two women. Why would you even schedule Lisa to enter Robin's room, no matter who you believe? Lisa should not even be near her area. Why is she in her room with a needle?

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

November 9, 2010

Whoever said that Tuesday Episodes are always slow-paced? Well, obviously GH is trying to get us somewhere which most of are excited about since they've been dragging for weeks, but now things are popping.

A shootout occurs when Dante shoots before Jason gives him the go-ahead. Thankfully none of our people are harmed and all of the Balkan's men are killed. However, this raises a few questions in Jason's head, especially since one of the Balkan's men was talking to Brenda and telling her she knows what she has done and so on. So once Dante and Lucky had taken care of the police business and Jason made sure Siobhan was taken care of, he finally sat Brenda down and pulled the truth out of her: the last time she was in New York, Dante was her bodyguard and they were attacked by an old lover named Alexander. She killed him during the struggle and Dante disposed of the body and did not report it in at all (which could damage his career). The importance of this: Alexander was The Balkan's son.

While Brenda was finally unloading to Jason, Dante had to answer to Lulu who was informed by Spinelli and Carly that Dante and Brenda knew each other before. Hurt, she confronts Dante when he returns home. Showing how much he is like his father, he lies to Lulu claiming that Brenda did not remember him and there was nothing important about his bodyguard duties to her three years ago. Lulu accepts this, but I'm sure that she has a nagging feeling that he's not telling her the complete story though he assures her he is.

As Lulu listens to Dante's lies, her brother Ethan blows Luke's cover claiming that lies are always uncovered sooner or later. Luke, Maya AND Tracy are angry at Ethan suddenly growing a conscience. In a "surprising" twist, Tracy knew it was con since the beginning and further surprises Luke by agreeing to marry him...after he signs a pre-nuptial. Now on a high, both Luke and Ethan plea for their ladies to accompany them to Las Vegas, where it all began before. Drunken Wedding anyone?

Luke might be in a good mood, but his old pal certainly isn't. Sonny's good news is tainted by him being lectured by Diane. She tells him to stay away from Claire for both of their sakes, especially since she is now under investigation by her superiors because she helped Sonny. Claire puts up a brave front, but Diane knows that she is in deep trouble. Sonny is worried and concerned for Claire but doesn't know what to do for her. Claire, on the other hand, walks away from him and bumps into Alexis- a woman who knows exactly what kind of position she put herself in. Who knows, maybe their parallel scenarios aren't to different from one another. Wouldn't it be something that after months of whining about wanting a baby, Claire finds out that she is pregnant with Sonny's?

At the hospital, Patrick promises to stay by Robin's side, but she tells him to go away, that she doesn't have the strength to deal with trying put their marriage back together despite the fact that Patrick is currently in therapy to figure out why he cheated on her. Wounded by her words, he leaves even though his brother- who has been surprisingly wise lately- tells him to fight for his marriage. On the other side, Maxie tells Robin to reconsider about Patrick.

PREVIEWS and THINGS TO CONSIDER:

Previews have displayed snippets of a conversation between Dante and Brenda as they discuss a baby and the fact that Brenda doesn't want anyone to know she was pregnant. Now some might assume that the baby might be Dante's but what if it was Alexander's and that is why The Balkan wants her- he wants his heir!

Claire's part in Port Charles might not be over. If it was, the writers would have her slip away with her tail between her legs and licking her wounds, but they didn't. She's still there and now she has the sympathy of Diane and Alexis. Could she also be concerned about a baby?

Also, rumor has it that someone' sister might be coming to Port Charles. Most of us know that Jax's brother, Jerry will be in town before the end of the year, but who has a sister that can pop up and create some chaos for our characters? Elizabeth's? Maya's? Maybe Lisa has a sister who can put her in her place (you know there is no one who knows you better and push your buttons better than your sibling). Who knows?

November 8, 2010

You know it's gonna be a good week when Monday's episode ends with a gunshot during an ambush.

First off, how in the world can Carly call ANY woman a maneater? May we look through Carly's past: slept with her mom's husband, slept with AJ and Jason (and was lying about whose the real father), slept with Sonny (hurting Jason), slept with Alcazar (and married him), slept with Jax (and now married to him), slept with Sonny again (twice while married to Jax) and that is just what I remember. I'm sure there are others. How can Brenda's history even compared to Carly's long laundry list of men who she jumped in bed with? Didn't she even sleep with Patrick before he married Robin?

Anyway, today's episode with filled with events:

After rescuing Emma and Robin from the fire, Lisa is called into questioning because Robin told the paramedics that Lisa started the fire. Though there is no doubt in my mind that she did, Robin should know better than to automatically accuse her in public without any evidence no matter what. Lisa has already proven to be a slick enemy who can beat the rap better than Sonny. What they need to do is ask Cameron, Liz's son, what he saw because if you remember last week's episode, we got a close up of him staring off towards the table with the blown out candles. I wager that he saw something or maybe he's going to recognize Lisa if he visits his mom at the hospital.

Now at the hospital, both Robin and Maxi are depressed about their childhood home being burned to the ground. All their memories, pictures, mementos gone. Matt comes up and comforts Maxi with an adorable stuff animal and receives a hug for his efforts. Alexis comes and offers to take Mac out for a drink to comfort him. (Looks like the Scorpios might be getting a love life out of this destruction). Unfortunately, Patrick does not bring much comfort to Robin. He is given the thankless task of informing her that she has an infection and with her HIV, her immune system is compromised.

While Robin is getting this disturbing news, Lisa attempts to plead her case to Nikolas, trying to woo him onto her side which is hard since he's been friends with Robin for YEARS. She throws his affair with Elizabeth in his face to make him sympathize with her which slightly helps for her. Who knows, she might have converted another Robin supporter.

In more dangerous news, Brenda, Lucky, Dante and Jason go to "trade" Brenda for Siobhan. In reality, they are attempting to do another ambush with Dante and Jason in sniper position. Lucky drags a "struggling" Brenda to the clearing where they are met with at least three of the Balkan's men and a blindfolded Siobhan. The head guy starts talking to Brenda, demanding something from her when a gun is fired.

While they are risking their lives, Carly is determined to destroy Brenda by getting Spinelli to do her dirty work. Unfortunately, Spinelli did find evidence that Dante was part of Brenda's guards during her last stay in New York- meaning that they have met before despite telling everyone otherwise. Just as Spinelli and Carly are looking for other cops to interview so they have a witness to their claim, Lulu pops up wanting to thank Spinelli for his help earlier that day. Poor Spinelli is caught between a rock and The Valkyrie when Carly says that maybe Lulu can help them and point blank asks her what she knows about the last time Dante protected Brenda.

In less exciting news, Claire

Sorry. I've been gone for awhile thanks to a very personal problems and I cannot promise that I will be here as periodical as I have been before but I will try to update this blog as much as possible.

Okay, let's see if I can recap as much as possible from when I left off:

Luke, Maya and Ethan have been successful in their mission to make Tracy believe that Luke did have a heart attack and is in need of special treatment. With the help of his other kids, Lucky and Lulu, and even Monica- who is posing as his doctor, Luke is now in the Quartmaine's mansion and under Tracy's good graces. However, Monica has give him a time limit: he has ONE month to marry Tracy before Monica blows the whistle on this scam.

While spending most of his time helping his father implement his plan and flirting with Maya, Ethan manages to separate some of his time to hang with Johnny. Though his time with Johnny has been mostly filled with him trying to convince Johnny to lie about Sonny being part of the car bomb for Kristina's sake. Johnny is hesitant to do so but he agrees that Kristina has had been through a lot and doesn't need to learn the truth about that event. However, his chance to lie for Sonny goes out the door when Sonny is arrested for the car bomb.

Sonny is blindsided when Claire Walsh uses the wiretap that Ronnie conveniently found to implement Sonny in the crime: a recording of a very guilty phone call prior to the bomb. Claire didn't immediately seen the piece of information to her bosses. She sat on it awhile while she was being courted by Sonny and spending many of her nights in his bed. Of course she hasn't been just twiddling her thumbs throughout this, she hired Dante to become Brenda Barret's bodyguard (after finding out about part of their past) thanks to Jax's request. However, thanks to Sonny's "brilliance" she decided to turn in the evidence to her superiors after witnessing seeing Sonny publicly embrace and comfort a distraught Brenda.

Brenda was distraught because she had to kill another man while protecting Dante, again, when she escaped out of his protection and ran to where the set-up Jason and Lucky had put into place. However, their ambush was ruined when someone had been spying on Lucky and Jason and relaying the information back to the Balkin. Now thanks to their slip-ups, Siobhan (who stupidly ducked out of Nikolas' home where Lucky put her for safekeeping) is kidnapped by the Balkan's man and is going to be used for a trade- Siobhan for Brenda. Of course Brenda is ready to do the trade but Jason is not.

Jason looks like he is about the explode in almost every scene. Not only is Brenda becoming more fragile and he feels compelled to protect her, but Carly is still trying to find a way to ruin Brenda (by finding out her secret with Dante and verbally bashing her at every chance she gets), Sam is feeling insecure (for reasons that are unknown to me), Spinelli is teaming with Carly against Dante, Lucky is ready to sacrifice Brenda for Siobhan and Sonny is acting stupid and getting himself arrested. In other words, everyone around him is losing their minds and common sense.

Speaking of losing their minds, Robin has slowly been losing hers because Lisa keeps popping up in her face and everyone around her is defending Lisa. From coming back to General Hospital and acting professional while pushing all of Robin's buttons, to playing a prank of Robin using Emma on Halloween and now saving Robin and Emma from the fire that she started during Emma's birthday party. Unfortunately for Robin, not only is Lisa going to get away with making her look like a negligent mother, but she's going to be vulnerable to Lisa as she lays in the hospital with burns and infection from the fire.

Going back to the Halloween night when Lisa dressed like Robin in a witch's outfit, am I the only one suspicious about why it was Abby who returned Emma? There is something about Abby, Michael's new friend and confidant, that I don't completely trust yet. She has a past and a history and there has to be a reason why she got irritated when Michael claimed to have know her well enough to judge her character.

October 21, 2010

Well Luke, Ethan and Maya put their plan into action: Luke feigns heart attack in hopes that Tracy will pity him and allow him to return home with her so she can nurse him then Ethan will stop by periodically to sneak him cigars and drinks while flirting on Maya on the side. Whether Tracy falls for it is a different matter.

While her uncle is scheming away, Carly is livid that Jax is planning to renovate a few rooms to turn into an apartment for Brenda Barrett. After going on a rampage, she tells him it does not matter and runs to Jason practically hyperventilating. Then she turns on him and kisses him. Good grief. And she calls Brenda the slut. If anyone is destroying their life it is Carly. What does she think kissing Jason would do? What if Spinelli walked in? Or Sam? Or Michael?

Of course Carly has been busy. I'm sure she is the one behind the private notes sent to Sonny and Claire so they could meet and have dinner. After all, she was the one who told Claire that Sonny would be up for the taking now that Brenda has turned him down.

Claire is seesawing between her anger at Sonny and her desire to forgive him. As she told Dante, she wants to put him away and save him at the same time. A sentiment that Dante shares himself.

However, Sonny is not the only one on his mind recently. Both he and Brenda keep flashing back to their mysterious past together when he was her bodyguard (something only Claire knows about). Their relationship is still uncertain. Obviously there was a friendship and a closeness, but whether they slept together can only be guessed right now. However we get flashes of screams and d dark alley. What happened that dark, eerie night?

Well Brenda's friend Robin needed to have someone talk some sense into her. And she called Maxi. Maxi? Surprisingly, it is Maxi who talks her down and they have a very civil conversation before Patrick interrupts, answering for himself when they begin talking about their marriage. Patrick is willing to go to counseling and everything but Robin refuses saying that she doesn't want to get hurt more by hearing why her husband decided to cheat on her. I think in a way, though it is hard for her, she wants to hold onto the anger. She wants to be angry and play the victimized wife who has been abused by her husband and his mistress. I'm sure if people believed her about Lisa, she would be able to forgive Patrick more. However, since the entire hospital looks at her like she's the insane one, she feels vindicated to hold onto her anger and justified not to forgive Patrick. That's just my opinion though.

In other Scrub news, Elizabeth has been called out by Brook. (Okay this happened yesterday, but still.) Liz tried to call Brook a gold-digging opportunist but Brook turned it on her saying the Liz is playing hot and cold with Nikolas, forgetting about all the damage she has already inflicted on him. In this fight, I have to back up Brook. Liz comes crawling to Nik when she realizes that the money she invested in a deal that her brother warned her about is gone. Her money was her link to independence and now it is gone so she is back at Nik's door for.... what? Money? Support? Forgiveness? What?

October 19, 2010

Not much happened concerning Brenda and Dante except the people around them are becoming slowly suspicious and curious of what's really going on with their unusual behavior.

On more exciting news, Lucky has finally persuaded Siobhan that it would be best for her to come to Port Charles with him. After escaping the two Balkan men, she was later retrieved by Lucky and told that she needed to disappear. Where? To Port Charles. He quickly got her new passports and IDs. So soon we should see them back home and teaming up with Jason.

Robin got a break from her emotional drama as she continues to allow Lisa to make her out as the insane bitter woman in this love triangle. After exchanging biting words with Patrick, she was summoned by Brenda to tell Sonny to back off. Robin rightfully apologizes for pushing them together then goes to see Sonny to give him Brenda's message.

While his wife is running around Port Charles, Patrick is getting burned at the hospital. Steve, still unsure who is telling the truth, reminds Patrick that all of Lisa's actions towards Robin are alleged and that it sounds like Patrick is against Lisa because of his guilt for cheating on his wife. So after a stressful day at work, I'm sure he will not be pleased when he finds out that Lisa followed him to the Metro Court and arranged to receive a room on the same floor as his.

October 18, 2010

The Balkan is already touching many parts of Port Charles and its not all centered around Brenda Barrett- okay it is but not all directly.

Jason is rightly suspicious after Dante comes storming down his stairs from Brenda's room, telling him to keep his guest out of his investigation concerning Sonny. Now since Sonny is the one who saw Dante and Brenda together in her room, you would think he would be suspicious as well but his entire focus was on getting Brenda back so he just took Dante's flimsy excuse for being there and let it and him go. Dante's angry march takes him back home where he rips into Michael for no reason but being the first person in his line of fire. It wasn't until he alluded to Michael murdering Claudia that he realized how cruel he was being to his younger brother. Yet it was too late. Michael ran away and Dante had to make due with Lulu trying to console him though his mind flickered back to a time between him and Brenda.

This secret must be good. They promised that no one is to know and that their paths should never cross. Is that why she went to Europe? What did they do? Why is it terrifying Dante so much that he's ready to yell at anyone? However big their secret is, I wonder if it is worth it. Jason is positive that Brenda knows who the Balkan is and is furious that she won't tell him anything.

Needing to get away, Jason is called away to meet up with Luke who had to beg Carly for a room at her hotel since his beloved wife, Tracy, refuses to take him back with her millions he stole. Carly agrees under the condition that he owes her a HUGE favor. Luke calls Jason to tell him that his visit to Europe might have stirred the attention of a mysterious man who has already beaten Ethan in hopes to get information. Guess how surprised Jason was when it was linked back to The Balkan.

Well, Luke had to tell Ethan why the half of his face was bloodied up- Lucky is in beyond neck deep trouble in Europe posing as Ronan. Luckily for him, he finds out that Brenda is back in Port Charles. Unfortunately for him, The Balkan's men are not satisfied with his need of an assistant and tell him that he has to kill Siobhan now. How is he going to talk his way out of this? I'm just glad that they are not making Lucky roam around Europe looking for Brenda who is practically in his backyard.

Back at the show's namesake, Lisa is already stirring the drama more. Prancing around in her underwear in front of Patrick, she continues to push his buttons with her innocent act. Then after Robin warns him not to let Lisa get to him, Robin slaps Lisa who skillfully hit a sore spot. Dumb Robin. I know its hard, but she should have just walked away. Like any antagonist, they act for reactions. Don't do anything and they flounder. If you react, they win. Plane and simple.

As Dante is letting his past secret with Brenda concerning the Balkan tear him up inside, the mayor is ready to tear up his career. Thanks to his so-called buddy, Ronnie, the mayor doesn't only want Dante off the car bomb case, but he wants him off the force completely. I've just got one question: HOW IS THIS MAN STILL MAYOR OF PORT CHARLES???? Who keeps electing him back into office? Seriously! In the next sweeps month catastrophe, he should be one of the ones killed off. Just a suggestion.

October 15, 2010

Lisa is back and Robin is already letting herself look like the crazy, mental fool Lisa wants her to look like. Who would have thought it would be Maxi to talk sense into her cousin? Robin needs to listen to Maxi and Maya and not let Lisa win by flying off the handle every time she opens her mouth. Perhaps she and Brenda should both get out of Port Charles for awhile.

But I know Brenda is not going anywhere. Not with Sonny trying to prove himself to her, Carly freaking out and her big secret with Dante. After going to Jax to ask for his support to keep her away from Sonny- like really what can Jax do?- she returns to Jason's and has a surprise visit from Dante. They go up to her room where they both claim to not have told ANYONE about their secret. Downstairs, Jason opens the door for Sonny who is told that Brenda is up in her room.

I don't know why Sonny is there, except to prove to Carly that she cannot control his life. I get that Carly is afraid of Michael and what Claire Walsh might do to her son to get back at Sonny for breaking her heart, but she should know that Claire would not believe that he would want her back out of love after she threatened to arrest his son to get to him. Claire might be a sap but she's not an idiot. Especially now that she is scorned and humiliated, her guard is up and she has something to prove.

Across the ocean, Lucky is ducking the cops and the bad guys as he still poses as Ronan O'Reilly trying to find Brenda Barrett with his partner, Siobhan. Obviously just escaping a recent attack, he's injured and is in need of aid which Siobhan is happy to provide. She is also ready to provide her body. Lucky is getting Lucky which is about time. He hasn't been with a woman since before Elizabeth and Nikolas broke his heart.

My predictions for the future:
  • Lisa is not done with Port Charles and is going to bring more dangerous escapades to General Hospital
  • Jax, feeling like he's doing a favor for a "friend" is going to suggest Brenda does something for Crimson to keep her occupied and away from Sonny which is going to anger Carly and annoy Maxi and probably add another female enemy- Lulu (especially after she sees the chemistry between Brenda and Dante)
  • Either Dante is not going to convict Sonny of the car bomb because of Brenda's request or he's going to be sidetracked by The Balkan's reemergence into his life.
  • Jason and Dante will have to team up again to protect Brenda
  • Something big is brewing so a big explosion happens in September- Sweeps Month

October 14, 2010

This week has been the week of Returns

Luke's return surprises his non-wife and son. Tracie makes an ultimatum that he cannot ignore- giver her back her money and she will give him another chance. Now he just has to find out how to get the money. However, Ethan has his own problems regarding Luke's return. Two thugs came over to beat him up for information of Luke's visit to Ireland and seeing Ronan O'Reilly in jail. Low and behold, the guys are part of Johnny's men and really work for the Balkan. The Balkan might have more than one reason to visit Port Charles.

Johnny was earlier propositioned by Carly to go see Jason and bump into Brenda. Then she made the horrible comment that Brenda is always after her men. Carly get real! ALL of Carly's men knew Brenda long before Carly was even a blip on their radar. If anything, it's the other way around. Thankfully, Michael came to tell her about Claire threatening to send him back to prison. This of course distracts Carly enough so she goes to attack the other brunette who has been a thorn in her side.

However, Sonny has already gotten to Claire and shamed her into dropping her threats. He tells her that her issue is with him, not Jason or Michael which Claire agrees to. That's why she wants to make sure that Dante gets this case concerning the car bomb in Johnny's car right and is able to get an airtight case against his father. Unfortunately for Dante, he's also being pressured by the mayor- who keeps electing this moron as a city official- who threatens him by sending him up for a review if they cannot get Sonny for this bomb. Too bad for both Claire and the mayor, Dante's mind is not completely focused on his father. Brenda keeps popping up in his mind.

Speaking of Brenda, Maxi finally came face to face with The Divine One. To her horror and agitation, Spinelli defended Brenda and Jason kicked her out. I'm glad that Spinelli finally told Maxi that it was none of her business. She keeps claiming that Brenda is going to break his heart, but looks who is talking. The same woman who cheated on Spinelli- physically and emotionally several times: Johnny, Franco and Matt. Yet, Brenda is going to be the one to hurt him? As if!

Maxi was not the only one making a fool of herself today. At the hospital, tired of the stares and side glances, Robin makes another spectacle of herself by putting her dirty laundry out there in the open. Honestly, she's making herself look even more crazy and obsessed and bitter. This of course is going to be her downfall because guess who is back (besides Liz).... LISA!

Liz is probably feeling like she has been gone forever since everything has changed. The hospital is tip toeing around the drama of Patrick/Robin/Lisa. People are questioning her friend's sanity and are angry with her other friend. Dependable Lucky is nowhere to be seen. Also, Nikolas is no longer pining over her. In fact, Nikolas is living with Brook Lynn which upsets Liz, though I don't think its any of her business. She dragged her feet too much when he wanted her. Serves her right that he continued living his life after she left.

Speaking of Brook and Nik, Nik claims that he knows that a relationship between them would be bad and Brook calls him out on his still festering desire for his deceased wife, Emily. She, like many others before her, told him it was time to move on.

October 08, 2010

Today's episode did not disappoint.

Brenda got a chance to see a lot of people: Jax (which was a sweet visit that led to him going down memory lane in his head), Carly (who ran away to bitch to Jason), Sonny again (who she was planning to tell "I love you" to) and Dante (who obviously has a mysterious past with her that NOBODY knows about). The Brenda/Dante thing was predicted by still gratifying to watch; their joyous surprise to see each other then the shock when Sonny walked into the room.

Frankly, I would not mind if Dante loved Brenda because I'm getting sick and tired of hypocritical Lulu. She has ALWAYS known that Sonny and her father didn't follow the law. In fact, she's envious of the time when her family was living the dangerous life, bouncing all over the globe, doing scams and whatnot as they go. However, since Sonny shot Dante (something everyone else has basically gotten over) she wants Dante to nail his hide to the door no matter who will hurt- mainly Sonny's children. Michael- who is going through a lot for her young age- will defend and support his father no matter what, even going as far as urging him to flee the country.  Kristina will be hugely conflicted and hurt and become more of an emotional drama queen. Poor Morgan will become conflicted as well. But does Lulu consider that? No!

Okay, I've vented over that situation. Moving on to another blond who is growing on my nerves (in fact all the blonds are becoming equally annoying): Carly. I know she is scared that her dear sweet noble husband is going to fall back in love with Brenda, but to forbid him to see her is a bit extreme especially since she's the one who has slept with her ex-husband TWICE while married to Jax. Jax has not given her any indication that he would cheat on her. In fact, he proved himself with Sky when she visited. He was separated from his wife and Sky was not subtle about what she wanted but he remained faithful. Carly has NEVER remained faithful. If everything that they have done to each other (cheated, lied, betrayed, etc.) hasn't broken up their marriage, why does she think little old Brenda could?

The other blond who has been annoying me is Maxi. She's the one who broke up with Spinelli because he's not enough for her, but he cannot admire another woman? Can we say selfish and needy? She reminds me of another blond on the show. I wonder who. CARLY. I swear, they should be sisters or cousins or somehow related. They have more in common than Carly and Lulu.

Okay, now that I vented about the characters I'm going to turn my attention to the writers. They are putting way too much emphasis on Brenda's return. Even before she showed up, they overdid it with the three episodes featuring her and "her" men. Then were the continuous flashbacks that they are still using. And now 50% of Port Charles male demographic is drooling over her. She's a pretty woman but she is not Aphrodite or some Gorgeous Greek Goddess that has descended down to Earth. In fact, she's losing a lot of her appeal with their over dramatization of her. Fans (who weren't around when she first arrived on the show) are getting sick and tired of her already and according to reports she signed a year contract. Come on! I get Sonny and Jax's admiration of her- she was their past love that caused the friction between the two men to begin with. Dante's is because of a new storyline so I can forgive that. Yet, there is no need for Spinelli, Max and Milo to be swooning over her. Though I will admit, Spinelli is sometimes funny when he's not being ridiculous with his admiration.

Which brings me back to the women of Port Charles who is annoying me- or at least how she is being written right now. Sam is not my favorite character, in fact half of the time she is either boring or annoying. However, why is she so insecure about Brenda? Jason has told her several times how much Brenda annoys him. Carly told her how much Jason does not like Brenda. How can she feel threatened by Brenda when she was not threatened by or feel insecure with Elizabeth. Jason actually loved Liz. They had a child together. He still likes Liz and is devoted to her. The one she should be jealous of is her, not Brenda. In fact, her and Brenda could be friends which would annoy Carly so much.

Another highlight of the show for me was the banter between Luke and Lucky as Luke was arrested and Lucky refused to aid him. Instead, he called Tracy who claimed not to care even though she requested Luke's exact whereabouts. Even Lulu called her on her BS. So after Lucky confirmed Luke's aid, he returns to his apartment where Siobhan is waiting for him. They are like the second generation of Luke and Laura- a pair that began with question beginnings but will probably grow together as they travel around the world after the mysterious and dangerous Balkan. Like it.
